When disaster strikes, professional responders can be delayed or overwhelmed for hours. In that window, the people who save lives are the ones already prepared: calm, capable, and ready to act. CERT turns willing residents into exactly those people.

In a hands-on course built on the national FEMA curriculum, you'll learn to control small fires, treat and triage injuries, shut off utilities, perform light search and rescue, and lead others under pressure — skills that protect your home, your workplace, and your neighbors long after class ends.

CERT isn't a certificate you file away. Graduates join a standing team of trained volunteers who support Orange during emergencies, community events, and drills — training together and becoming the dependable few their community can call on.
