• One permit per user/group per month.
• Groups of 24 or fewer don’t need a permit unless reserving a pavilion or having a jumper.

• A Special Event Park Permit is required for events open to the public, private events with 200 or more guests, or events featuring other components such as vendors, booths, displays, etc. taking place in a City park.
• A Special Event Park Permit Application can be submitted up to five (5) months in advance, but no later than sixty (60) days prior to the event.
• A $60 Special Event Park Permit Application fee must be submitted via Civic Portal after initial application review. This fee is applied towards administrative review of the application. Upon receipt, a hold for that day will be placed on the requested park facility.
• If the application is approved, the applicant is responsible for paying all applicable park permit fees and deposits. Upon notice of an approved application, the applicant will have ten (10) days to submit all outstanding fees.
• Events taking place in a City park, will require a layout of the event noting specifications of the set-up and a certificate of insurance with an endorsed letter certifying that the City of Orange is additionally insured on the policy. Some special events may require additional documentation as requested by staff.

Park Rules

By applying for a Special Event Park Permit, applicants are acknowledging the following policies:

• Monies may not be exchanged in City parks.

• Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in City parks.  
• Unauthorized vehicles may not drive onto City parks.

 

• Vendor equipment and jumpers must be hand-carted into the park. Jumpers may not exceed 15x20 feet in size and must operate from their own generator.

• All cooking devices such as personal BBQ's, food carts, etc. (aside from park BBQ's) must be at a minimum of 20 feet from any City building, structure, or overhang.
• Free distribution of food, beverages, and/or supplies to the general public is not allowed in City parks.
• Walkways must remain unobstructed at all times
• Smoking is prohibited at all park buildings, including entrances, at or near playgrounds, and at or near active sport fields.
• Permit holders shall accept full responsibility for the conduct of their guests.
• Amplified sound (live music, radio, DJ, PA system, etc.) is allowed from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. but may not exceed a noise level of 55 decibels.

• Permit cancellations must be submitted in writing to csinfo@cityoforange.org by the permit holder prior to the event date
• Please refer to your permit for applicable fees
• Approved permit refunds may take up to 6 weeks to receive

• The City of Orange does not refund permit fees for inclement weather cancellations
• Permit holders may reschedule their reservation for another date
• Permit rescheduling due to inclement weather must be at the request of the permit holder to the Community Services Department within 24-hours of the cancellation
• Rescheduled dates are dependent upon availability and may only be reserved up to three months in advance
