The Adult Literacy Program is looking for volunteer tutors who want to make a difference in another’s life and want to share their love of reading and books. This is a one-on-one tutoring program focusing on the needs of individual adults working to improve their reading and writing skills. July 9 is New Tutor Orientation Night and the first of four mandatory trainings; the other training dates are July 11, July 16, and July 18, each from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Orange Public Library & History Center. Provides active young children with stories, fingerplays, and songs based on simple concepts, repetition, and lots of movement. (ages 2-5)

A special 6-week program presented by Independent Therapy Dogs, Inc., gives children the opportunity to read aloud to a certified therapy dog. Dogs are great listeners and will enjoy any story, read at any pace. (All ages)
