The registered owner of the vehicle needs to come to the Orange Police Department’s Records counter, which is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The registered owner needs to provide a valid California Driver’s License, or provide a valid identification and have another person with a valid California Driver’s License present. If possible, please bring a copy of any paperwork the officer gave to you at the time the vehicle was impounded. The fee to release an impounded vehicle is $239.
