NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that several vacancies still exist on City Boards, Commissions, and Committees due to the expiration of terms of office. These vacancies include:
Board, Commission, or Committee
Term of office is 2 years
Citizen representatives must reside or be permanently employed in the City of Orange. The designation of Certified Public Accountant, or other related business experience, is required.
Twice annually and as-needed
CDBG Program Committee
Members’ primary residence must be in the City of Orange. Members should show an interest in and have knowledge of housing and community development issues, especially as they relate to affordable housing and public service for residents of low and moderate income.
As-needed during CDBG funding cycle (November-March)
Design Review Committee
Term of office is 4 years
Members’ primary residence or primary place of employment must be in the City of Orange. Committee members shall be qualified to analyze and interpret architectural and site planning information, including, but not limited to, licensed landscape architects, architects, urban planners, engineers and licensed general contractors. At least two members shall have professional experience in urban planning, architectural history or historic preservation and possess a general knowledge of architecture in the Old Towne Historic District.
1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Investment Advisory Committee
Members must have either their primary residence or primary place of employment in the City of Orange. Committee members shall have substantial education and five years of demonstrated managerial experience in one or more of the following areas: investment banking, investment brokerage and sales, investment management, financial management and planning or commercial banking.
Once each quarter or as-needed
Orange Public Library Board of Trustees
Term of office is 3 years
Members’ primary residence must be in the City of Orange. Trustees shall have an understanding and appreciation of the role of the public library in the community and in a democracy. Trustees should be library users and should value books and information delivery.
3rd Monday of each month at 3:30 p.m.
Park Planning and Community Events Commission
Term of office is four 3-year terms; three 2-year terms; 4 years thereafter
Members’ primary residence must be in the City of Orange. The seven members shall consist of one representative from each District (1-6) and one at-large. Commission Members shall have knowledge of sports complexes and/or park development, and knowledge of city-sponsored events. Duties are set forth in Chapter 2.60 of the Orange Municipal Code.
Once each quarter oras-needed;4th Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Members’ primary residence must be in the City of Orange. Members review matters of traffic and transportation planning, requests for speed limit increase or decreases, complaints concerning traffic safety conditions, and other general duties as set forth in Chapter 10.06 of the Orange Municipal Code. City Traffic Commission duties are considered as advisory to the City Council.
