The City of Orange is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Sheatz to the position of City Attorney. Mr. Sheatz has been with the City for nearly 19 years, serving most recently as the Senior Assistant City Attorney.
A graduate of California Western School of Law in San Diego, Mr. Sheatz began his municipal career with the City of Santa Ana prior to joining the City of Orange Team.
During his unanimous appointment to the position, the Orange City Council praised his body of work to date, and expressed their highest confidence in his ability to continue the traditions of integrity, service, and high standards embodied by our City Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Sheatz reflects that his greatest accomplishment during his nearly two-decade long career in Orange has been the many relationships he has forged with his coworkers and the community.
“Serving the Orange community has always been our highest priority,” said City Attorney Gary Sheatz. “My goal will be to ensure that we continue to uphold the public trust, protect our City, and ensure that Orange remains a great place to live and do business.”
Mr. Sheatz is replacing former City Attorney Wayne Winthers, who retired on March 7 after 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Orange.
