Freegal Music™ is a downloadable music service at Orange Public Library. All you need is your library card number and PIN (your birthdate in MMDDYYYY format). As a cardholder, you can now download up to five MP3 digital music files every week. Download songs from popular artists from every era and genre. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Here are a few tips to help you start downloading your favorite music quickly and easily.
Current limits are set at five downloads per week. Your counter will set back to 0 each week on Sunday night, then you can download 5 more tracks during the new week.
Listen to a Sample
If you want to hear a 30 second sample of a song before downloading it, simply click on the icon and listen.
When you're ready to download a track, click on the icon and then the "Download Now" link, select "Save" at the prompt, and designate where you want to save the song. Be sure to click on the "Download Now" link only one time. If you try to cancel the download, the download may still count toward your weekly allotment.
Having trouble finding your band in the Artist Search box?
Find bands that begin with "The" in their name, alphabetized under the letter "T."
Once in awhile internet Service Providers or your computer may time out, and you could experience an incomplete or problem download. Freegal Music™ provides you with the opportunity to download previously downloaded songs again, without using up a personal download, and at no cost to your Library. To download a song again, from this week or last week, press the "Download" link in the upper left corner and see your list. You may do this up to two additional times. Once you have downloaded a song twice from the Recent Downloads page, the song titles disappear from your list because they are no longer available to you.
