Classes, Camps and Aquatics

The Community Services Department offers a wide variety of quality recreation classes and camps for people of all interests and ages. Whether you are looking to learn something new, relieve stress, burn calories, gain enrichment, improve your skills, build stamina, channel creativity, or just be plain silly, we have a class for you! Our reasonably priced recreation classes offer the opportunity to try new things with minimal commitment and no membership dues.

Summer Day Camp

The Community Services Department is so excited to offer modified in-person Day Camp programming this summer! Our program will adhere to California Department of Public Health guidelines to maintain a safe environment for staff and patrons. We are eager to get back into our parks for some summer fun and hope you join us too!

Aquatics

The City of Orange is currently programming for Summer 2021 to include modified in-person aquatic and day camp activities.  All programs will adhere to California Department of Public Health guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all staff and patrons. Please note that programming is subject to change or cancel, and employment hours are not guaranteed.

Group Lessons

Location:
Hart Park Pool

The City of Orange employs American Red Cross-certified Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors to ensure high-quality programming for Summer 2021 to include modified in-person aquatic activities. All programs adhere to current California Department Public Health and American Red Cross safety guidelines. All guidelines and programs are subject to change or cancellation. 

Important information: 

  • One adult per child is required to participate in the water for all LITTLE GUPPIES and TADPOLE lessons. 
  • Only one adult per registered participant will be permitted into the pool. 
  • Maintain a 6ft distance from others in the facility and in the water at all times. 
  • Students may be transferred by Hart Park Pool Staff to the most appropriate skill level. 
  • Arrive ready to swim as locker rooms are closed. 
  • Facemasks are required to and from the pool. 
  • A daily health screening is required. 

Water Excercise
$34 per session, per participant. Ages 13+

Set to upbeat music, this 9-week fun outdoor aquatics program offers you a full body cardio workout designed to help sustain and improve joint mobility, tone muscles, increase endurance, and burn calories.

6336 Tuesdays, June 15- August 10, 7:30pm-8:30pm.
6337 Thursdays, June 17- August 12, 7:30pm-8:30pm.

Full Sessions:

$45 per session, per participant
Sessions consist of 9 lessons, 30 minutes each
Week 1 of each session meets Monday – Friday
Week 2 of each session meets Monday – Thursday

Session 1: June 14 – June 24
Session 2: July 5 – July 10
Session 3: July 19 – July 29
Session 4: August 2 – August 12


Mini Session:

$22 per session, per participant
Sessions consist of 4 lessons, 30 minutes each
Lessons will be held on Saturdays. 

NO LESSONS WILL BE HELD ON JULY 3RD 

Session 1: June 19 – July 17
Session 2: July 24 – August 14

Lap Swim
$27 per session, per participant. Ages 16+

Come enjoy independent lap swim. Participants will be assigned their own lane. Lap swimming will go short course (width of the pool) rather than long course (length of the pool). This activity will be taking place during our water Exercise class. 6 Lanes available for usage. Registration is required prior to participating.

Hart Park Pool Swim Lesson Registration

  • Priority Online/Mail-in/24-hour drop box registration for Orange Residents only begins Monday, May 3, 2021 at 7:30 AM.
  • Online/Mail-in/24-hour drop box registration for all patrons including non-residents begins Monday, May 17, 2021 at 7:30 AM. 
  • Walk-in registration for all patrons including non-residents begins Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 7:30 AM.

Important Registration Information:

  • The City of Orange is currently programming for Summer 2021 to include modified in-person Aquatic activities. All programs will adhere to California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Red Cross guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all participants. 
  • Swimming lesson registration is taken on a first-come, first-received basis. Classes fill up fast. Placement will be based on class availability.
  • For priority registration, Orange residents must enclose a copy of a current utility bill dated within the last 30 days for proof of residency. If a recent utility bill is not received, the registration will be mailed back. (Non-residents do not need proof)
  • Be sure to select alternate class times and sessions when using the aquatics registration form.
  • If the preferred class is filled, the participant will be placed in the next available class based on the alternate choices provided.
  • Do not list alternate classes if the participant is unavailable to attend.
  • Once registration has been processed, a lesson confirmation and parent packet will be emailed.

Hart Park Pool Refund Policy 

  1. All swim classes and lessons are non-refundable. 
  2. Missed or cancelled swim lessons, classes, or activities cannot be transferred to another session, rescheduled, nor refunded. 
  3. Unexpected pool closures may occur. Please call our Hart Park Pool Hotline (714) 744-5518, before each lesson, to receive the latest information regarding pool closures. No make-up lessons will be provided for any reason.
