Entering the Orange Public Library & History Center
If you feel sick or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not enter the Library.
Please wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Please use hand sanitizing stations provided by the Library.
Please cover your mouth and nose with a face covering when inside the Library.
Keep your library visit to one hour or less. Please keep your eye on the clock.
Please practice social distancing.

New Operating Hours
Only the Orange Public Library & History Center (407 E. Chapman Avenue) is open at this time.
The Library is re-opening with reduced hours. Modified hours are Mondays – Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesdays – Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are closed Saturdays and Sundays. The El Modena and Taft Branch Libraries remain closed until further notice.
Entrance Line
Please join the outside Library Entrance Line [View Map] upon arrival. Please be aware of the weather and dress accordingly. Library staff will provide each patron with an Orange Public Library Entry Pass. Passes must be visible at all times and returned at the end of your visit. The Chapman Ave entrance will be temporarily closed and patrons are asked to use the doors on the North side of the building.
Capacity
To adhere to social distancing guidelines, there is a limit of 50 patrons in the building at one time.
Book Drops are open at the Main Library Only.
Please return items to our book return on the North side of the Library building before entering. All items must be returned to this book return. All returned items will be quarantined for 7 days. Returned items will still appear on patron accounts during this time, and may show a status of overdue. No fines will be assessed during the quarantine period.
Self Checkout
We encourage you to use the self checkout stations. Staff will clean the station after each use. Download the Orange Public Library App from the Android Play Store or Apple App Store and save an electronic version of your library card, or bring your Library card for a fast, contactless checkout experience.
Express Holds Pickup
Library cardholders can pick up their holds without having to enter the building. All holds will be available via the Library’s Express Holds Pickup window on the North side of the Orange Public Library & History Center building. Please have your Library card or a valid photo ID/Driver’s License ready.
Programs
We will not offer in-person library programming during this phase. We will continue to provide virtual programs and storytimes.
Computers
Due to social distancing guidelines, we have rearranged and limited our computer stations to provide 6 feet of distance on all sides. Laptops are not available for checkout.
Seating and Tables
Due to social distancing guidelines, our seating areas and tables are currently unavailable at this time. We ask that you remain at least 6 feet from other patrons and staff.
Children's Library
Due to social distancing guidelines, our seating areas and tables are currently unavailable at this time. We ask that you remain at least 6 feet from other patrons and staff.
Material Donations
We are not yet ready to take small donations of materials. Please leave a message with the Friends of the Library at (714) 288-2424 if you have 5 or more boxes to donate.
Meeting and Study Rooms
Due to social distancing guidelines, our meeting rooms and study rooms are currently unavailable.
