The City operates a television channel, Discover Orange, for government programs on Spectrum Channel 3 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99. The channel also streams online!
City Council and Planning Commission meetings are broadcast live right here. Meetings can also be viewed online by visiting our Meetings Archive page.
Any non-profit organization based in Orange may submit an event announcement for the Discover Orange message board. City staff will review the appropriateness of messages and may edit them for space and clarity. The City Clerk’s office is open Monday through Thursday and alternating Fridays from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at City Hall, 300 E. Chapman Ave., Orange, CA 92866, (714) 744-5500, email@example.com. Requests should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
Access to the message board is limited to twelve messages per year, space permitting. Information should be submitted to the City Clerk’s office and include:
- Organization Name
- Date of Event
- Time of Event
- Location of Event
- Cost of event
- Contact name and telephone number
We prefer receiving event information by email and ideally in PowerPoint format, however, you may submit by mail or in person and include event fliers, photographs, or other organization graphics to be used in the announcement. Organizations should submit proof of its 501(c)(3) or other non-profit status with the first announcement request. It is not necessary to resubmit the non-profit status with subsequent requests.
Messages will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and aired as space allows. Messages will be removed the day after the scheduled event. The City of Orange reserves the right to decline any request that does not fall within the non-profit guidelines.
User priority for the municipal channel message board is established to provide the most equitable use of available space in the event that heavy demand results in space limitation. The order of priority for messages on the message board is as follows:
- Time-dated or essential City of Orange information. Non-essential or standing information may be removed in the event of space limitation, and will be reinstated when space permits.
- Organizations within the city limits of Orange sponsoring events taking place within city limits.
- Organizations within the city limits of Orange sponsoring events taking place outside of Whittier.
