Senior Meal Gap Program
During the COVID-19 pandemic, adults 65 years or older are considered to be part of the vulnerable population and should continue to stay at home. If you are a resident of Orange, 65 years or older, and are experiencing food insecurity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may qualify for the City of Orange Senior Meal Gap Program. Approved, eligible seniors will receive a total of $250 worth of vouchers to local restaurants and a $250 voucher for a local grocery store. The program is funded by the federal CARES Act and provided to the City of Orange by Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner. Applications will be accepted starting Tuesday, August 18 and will be reviewed on a first-received, first-approved basis. The Senior Meal Gap Program will run through December 18, 2020, or until funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Daily hot lunches are offered to seniors 60 and over for a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal and $5.00 for adults 59 and under. Case Management is also offered to link seniors to available resources in the community along with a home delivered meals program for qualifying seniors.
Senior Transportation Program
The Orange Senior Center offers a Senior Transportation Program which subsidizes the cost of taxi travel for Orange residents who are at least 60 years of age. This program is made possible, in part, by the generous support of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and Senior Serv. The Senior Transportation Program promotes lifelong mobility through a donation based and senior-oriented transportation service. If you are a senior in need of a ride to a medical appointment, pharmacy, grocery store, or the Orange Senior Center, help may be available to you.
