Our local history collection includes oral histories conducted with residents of the City of Orange. The majority of our oral histories were conducted by the Orange Community Historical Society (OCHS) as part of their Narrative History Project. Oral histories continue to be collected both by OCHS and Orange Public Library staff.
Oral histories are made available by the library in a variety of ways. Those conducted by OCHS have been transcribed, bound, and cataloged as part of the local history reference collection. They are available for research inside the History Center during operating hours. Oral histories conducted by library staff are transcribed and made available online through the Digital Collection, which is available 24/7.
