The view you are seeing is of the Plaza Square in the City of Orange, located at the intersection of
Chapman Avenue and Glassell Street. First laid out in 1875, the Plaza Square is the heart of the
City's Old Towne Historic District and site of many community activities during the year.
The PlazaCam is the first of the City's traffic monitoring cameras to be put out on to the
Internet for the benefit of the public. These cameras, generally located at signalized
intersections, are used by the City's traffic engineering staff to monitor traffic
flow and ensure intersections and streets are operating properly. The PlazaCam is located
at the southeast corner of the Plaza, and connected to Orange City Hall via underground fiber optic line.
