What is Kids Print? (Click here for Kids Print brochure)

Kids Print is a form of identification for children who cannot identify themselves due to injuries, disabilities, trauma or because they are too young to speak. Should an emergency situation happen to your child, you would give your Kids Print Card to police officers. Children are printed at various Orange Unified School District and private school events. The print card contains your child’s palm print and the date the prints were taken. Parents complete the card with your child’s personal information; i.e., date of birth, weight, height, hair color, eye color, and marks/scars. The prints are kept in a safe location, but easy to locate in case of emergency.

Children can be printed from ages two weeks to 12 years. Babies' feet are printed rather than their hands. Babies' fingerprints have not yet developed, but it is recommended that palm prints be taken at preschool age and again once they enter elementary school.
