| Citizen's Academy The Orange Police Department's Citizen Police Academy will provide community members with an inside look at local law enforcement. The twelve-week academy is designed to give an overview of our department's structure, services, and personnel. The curriculum and teaching methods are similar to the traditional police academy, but the weekly sessions are not designed to make the participant a police officer. The course is offered in the spring and fall. All sessions are taught by Police Department employees.
Classes meet on Thursday nights for four hours at the Orange Police Department, 1107 N. Batavia, Orange, CA 92867. Participants will be given the opportunity to meet the Chief of Police and ride along on a shift in a patrol car. The requirements for enrollment are:
Minimum age of 21 years old Live or work in the City of Orange No prior felony convictions No misdemeanor arrests within five years of application
