Hazardous Occupancies

The California Fire Code defines H Occupancies (Hazardous Occupancies) as buildings or structures, or portions thereof, that involve the manufacturing, processing, generation or storage of materials that constitute a high fire, explosion or health hazard.

The Fire Prevention Bureau of the City of Orange Fire Department annually inspects businesses that meet this definition. These inspections follow the California Fire Code, which has been adopted by the City. Performing annual fire inspections minimizes the chances of fire and property damage, while increasing public safety.

The Fire Prevention Bureau is a resource where building and business owners can find information on California Fire Code requirements and permits for H Occupancies. Contact Raymi Wun or Brad Goodrich via email or at (714) 288-2541.
