Did you know that more than half of the intentionally set fires in Orange County are directly attributable to juvenile fire play or firesetting? Hundreds of lives and billions of dollars are lost every year in the United States as a result of children playing with fire. Children's Hospital of Orange County, in association with many community agencies and entities, hosts a comprehensive, regional juvenile firesetter intervention program called Orange County Fire F.R.I.E.N.D.S. (Firesetter Regional Intervention Education Network and Delivery System).
The City of Orange Fire Department is committed to creating and maintaining a fire safe community. Part of this effort is to educate children who have demonstrated fire-setting behavior. Please call Investigator Marshall with any questions regarding educational opportunities, or for guidance in this area. You may email Keith Marshall or phone him at (714) 288-2549.
