Doug Fackiner commands the Operations Division, comprised of 108 emergency first responders.Chief Fackiner began his involvement with the Orange City Fire Department in 1986 as a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) fire science student and Boy Scouts of America Fire Explorer. In 1988, he began volunteering in the Fire Prevention Bureau. This volunteer time led into a full-time fire safety specialist position in early 1989. In July of that same year, Chief Fackiner realized his goal of becoming an Orange City Firefighter.
Chief Fackiner has served the community of Orange in the capacity of Paramedic, Captain, Administrative Captain, and Battalion Chief. He now serves as the department's Deputy Chief of Operations.He is tasked with managing the fire suppression, emergency medical and training divisions.Chief Fackiner is also responsible for administering the department's automated staffing, electronic vehicle location, and emergency vehicle traffic signal control programs.
