The Orange Fire Department participates with the Orange County Fire Authority by providing trained rescue technicians to supplement the 62-member California Task Force 5 on deployments to disasters such as the Northridge earthquake and the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Orange County Task Force 5, with six members from the Orange Fire Department, enters the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building for their first assignment after being deployed to the Oklahoma City bombing incident, which took the lives of 168 people.
