Regarding Your Medical Information

The Department provides fire paramedic and ambulance service with an integrated Paramedic/transportation system. This system utilizes front line engine companies that are paramedic assessment units (PAU's) combined with paramedic staffed rescue ambulances located at stations 3, 4, and 5 to make up a paramedic team. The result of this enables the department to get advanced life support to the patient in less time than with the traditional ALS delivery system and in situations where rapid transport is necessary (e.g. trauma, drownings), there is no delay waiting for a private ambulance to arrive on scene. The Department also provides a trained Swiftwater Rescue team and is able to respond anywhere in the county in a short period of time. There are also members of the Department trained in Urban Search and Rescue and they are part of the Orange County Task Force 5 USAR Team, one of 13 operational FEMA USAR teams in the United States.
