Insurance Requirements

Section 5.45.080 of the Orange Municipal Code requires applicants for film permits to obtain and maintain in force during the pendency of the film permit the following insurance coverage. Evidence of such coverage must be delivered to the city as a condition precedent to the issuance of a permit in the form of a certificate (or certificates) of insurance and endorsements, on forms acceptable to the city:

  1. Workers compensation insurance as required by law for the protection of permittee’s employees;
  2. Comprehensive or commercial general liability insurance written on an occurrence basis providing for a combined single limit of (a) $1 million, or (b) $500,000 per occurrence with $1 million aggregate for bodily injury, death and property damage, or (c) $1 million aggregate; and
  3. Automotive liability insurance on a comprehensive form covering all owned, non-owned and hired automobiles providing for a combined single limit of (a) $1 million, or (b) $500,000 per occurrence with $1 million aggregate for bodily injury, death and property damage, or (c) $1 million aggregate.
  4. Each policy of general liability and automotive liability shall be endorsed to provide that City, its officers, agents, and employees are declared to be additional insureds under the terms of the policy.  In addition to the insurance certificate, the applicant must provide a separate, additional insured endorsement (i.e., CG 20 10 11 85) that designates the City of Orange.
