Mobile Recreation - Begins September 2nd, 2008


The City of Orange brings recreation to you! Mobile Recreation is designed to bring recreation activities to residents and youth who would otherwise not have access to recreation programs. Sites vary throughout the city and the hours are from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sites will be closed during inclement weather. A parent packet, including a liability form, drop-off and pick-up policy agreement, and discipline agreement must be completed in order to begin.

After-School Recreation Programs - Begins September 2nd, 2008


Grijalva and Killefer Park After-school Programs offer free activities, crafts, sports, games, special events, a nutritional program, and in partnership with the Friendly Center. The Killefer Park After-school Program offers free tutoring to participants! These programs promote and build self confidence, friendships, a healthy lifestyle, and friendly environment. Children ages kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to participate and program times are subject to change. A parent packet, including a liability form, drop-off and pick-up policy agreement, CDBG form, and discipline agreement must be completed in order to begin. Site Time: 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Killefer Park (site open during inclement weather)

Site Time: 2:30 p.m.– 6 p.m.

El Camino After-School Program (site closed during inclement weather)

The El Camino after-school program is open earlier when single-track students are out of school. Children will enjoy free activities, crafts, sports, games, special events, a nutritional program. This program promotes and builds self-confidence, friendship, a healthy lifestyle, and a friendly environment. Children in kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to participate and program times are subject to change.

Site Time: 2:30-6 p.m. (on track)

Site Time: 12:30-6 p.m. (off track)

THANK YOU SUMMER 2008 VOLUNTEENS

Responsible, enthusiastic, outgoing young adults between the ages of 14-18 made a difference at Handy and Shaffer Day Camps. VolunTEENS took an active role at the day camps by assisting with craft set up, sport/group games and activities. they were a part of a child's memorable summer day camp experience and contributed a valuable service to the Orange community!
