Orange, CA – Candidates who wish to be placed on the ballot for the November 6 municipal election can file their paperwork with the City of Orange City Clerk's Office starting at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16.  The City of Orange seats up for election this fall are for Mayor, two City Council seats, City Clerk, and City Treasurer.

The 2012 Candidate Filing Period runs until 5:30 p.m., Friday, August 10.  The Orange City Clerk’s Office, where candidates should pick-up and drop-off their paperwork, is located at 300 E. Chapman Avenue, Orange.

The seat of Mayor is a City Council position with a term of 2 years. An incumbent is eligible to hold the office for a total of three consecutive terms, as per the Orange Municipal Code (OMC) 2.05.020.

Seats on the City Council are 4-year terms, which are limited to two consecutive terms, as per OMC 2.05.010.

The elected positions of City Clerk and City Treasurer are both four-year terms.
