City of Orange Helps “Close the Recycling Loop”
Contact :Paul Sitkoff    (714) 288-2590
ORANGE, Ca. – The City of Orange has partnered with CR&R, Inc. to commemorate Earth Day with a free give-away of two bags of compost for any Orange resident or business with a CR&R account.  The compost give-away will take place on Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. in the City Hall parking lot.  The lot is one block south of Chapman Avenue on the corner of Almond Avenue and Center Street.
Supplies are limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis.  A coupon, mailed to CR&R customers with a recent utility bill, or another form of identification, will be required to receive the compost.

The compost supplied at the give-away is made from the "green waste" collected from businesses and residences throughout the region.
Compost promotes plant vitality, soil drainage, and moisture absorption. Using Compost is a great way to “close the recycling loop,” which is not complete until recycled materials are reintroduced into the ecosystem.
The program is being funded by a sponsorship from CR&R, Inc., the City's solid waste disposal contractor.

For more information on the compost give-away and the City’s commitment to environmentally responsible waste management, call the City of Orange Public Works Department at (714) 744-5525.
