After consideration and approval by City Council on December 13, 2017, Phase I of the Yorba Park Renovation Project is scheduled to commence in mid-January 2017. The park will need to remain closed for approximately 8-10 months. The City of Orange is working with the County of Orange to improve Yorba Park. There are four proposed project phases: Phase I - Grading Project, Phase II - Vapor Extraction System Replacement (County of Orange project), Phase III - Park Re-Establishment, and Phase IV - Restroom Replacement. The project scope includes a number of enhancements to the site. The proposed improvements include installation of trees, picnic tables, drought tolerant shrub plantings strategically place to improve the aesthetic experience while both visiting and driving by the park, a designated path leading to the Santiago Creek Bike Trail from the parking lot, removal of the temporary power poles, and potential replacement of the restroom facility. All aspects of the renovation and any planned improvements to Yorba Park are consistent with the environmental mitigation measures identified in the previously-approved Mitigated Negative Declaration 1674-01 and 2004 Addendum.
