The City Council of the City of Orange is seeking interested applicants to fill two vacancies as a member of the Planning Commission.
The applicant shall have their primary residence in the City of Orange and have general knowledge of land use and development activities. The term of office is four years.
The Planning Commission makes land use decisions in accordance with State law that are consistent with the City’s General Plan goals and policies; it provides technical and advisory assistance to the City Council regarding land use matters; assists in formulating development policy; makes environmental assessments in accordance with CEQA provisions and the City’s Environmental Review Guidelines; hears and decides applications for conditional use permits, variances, major site plan review, negative declarations and appeals of administrative actions, decisions by the Zoning Administrator and Design Review Committee and makes recommendations to the City Council on applications for zone changes, tentative tract maps and environmental impact reports and amendments to the City’s zoning ordinance and general plan.
Regular Meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
