Street Light Are Going LED

Construction Alert

The City of Orange is currently upgrading approximately 2,500 of our street lights to new, energy efficient LED fixtures.  Once the replacement is complete, we will be saving more than $110,000 per year in energy costs.  The new fixtures provide the human eye a better visual spectrum and show truer colors, which will create a safer nighttime environment for our residents and visitors.

Before work begins in your neighborhood, “No Parking” signs will be posted ahead of the LED installation dates.  Fixture replacement should take about one hour per light, with the work crew then moving to the next pole. There should be no interruption of your street sweeping or trash pick-up days due to the street light work. Fixture replacement work will take place from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am on main streets, and from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm in our residential neighborhoods.
