Permits are required to reserve a picnic area, gazebo, building, or athletic field in City parks. In addition, groups of 25 or more guests are required to have a permit. Parties with bounce houses are also required to have a permit regardless of the number of guests in their party. Permits are not issued on holidays.

Permits must be obtained in person by 3 p.m. the Wednesday before the week of the event, except during a holiday week when deadline dates are subject to change. Special Event, Senior Center, and Sports Center permits are the exception to the Wednesday deadline and require more advanced notice.
Non-residents are welcome to reserve park space, however Orange resident vs. non-resident rates apply. Proof of Orange residency (current utility bill or bank statement), permit fees, and deposits are due at the time the permit is issued. Permits can be issued up to 3 months in advance from the day of event.

Park Permit Cancellations
All permit cancellations must be submitted in writing by the permit holder prior to the event date. Please refer to your permit for applicable cancellation fees. Approved permit refunds may take up to 6 weeks to receive.
Inclement Weather Policy
The City of Orange does not refund permit fees for inclement weather cancellations. Instead permit holders may reschedule their reservation. Permit rescheduling due to inclement weather must be at the request of the permit holder to the Community Services Department within 24-hours of the cancellation. Rescheduled dates are dependent upon availability and may only be reserved up to three months in advance.
